The Wheels on the Bus....

Today, Kaylee rode the bus for the first time. Since preschool she has begged to ride the bus, but has never been able to. She was so excited!

Mermaids and Fairies

I just got Photoshop for my computer. I had Photoshop elements before, so I've played with it some, but I don't know very much about either. I just mess around with it enough until I figure some things out. Here are my first two attempts at Photoshop. Kaylee always dreams of being a mermaid and a fairy, so I decided to start with that. They're not great, but really funny!

A Year Ago Today

One year ago today, we were blessed with a precious angel. It's hard to believe it's already been a year. Wyatt, you have brought so much joy to our lives. Your daddy, sister, and I love you very much! Happy birthday, sweet boy!

Back to Reality

After a wonderful and mostly stress-free 60 days of leave, we had to say good-bye to Steve yesterday. He's headed to Savannah and will be there until November when he deploys to Iraq. Now that things have slowed down, I'll be better about updating the blog. You can see pictures from our last few days in Washington, our move to Texas, and our trip to Disney World at www.gallery.me.com/janakrobins. One of our purchases during the 60 days of leave was a Mac computer. We're loving it, and it's so much easier to upload pictures to that gallery than this one.

Steve, thanks for a wonderful vacation. We've loved having so much time to spend with you. I know we drove you a little crazy, but we've enjoyed every minute. Be safe on your trip, and know that we love you lots.

Not Going to Happen

Just letting you all know in advance that I'm not going to be mobile blogging while we're here at Disney World. We have internet at the hotel, but it's 10 dollars for every 24 hours. We have it until 5:00 tomorrow, but I'm thinking I'm not going to pay an extra 50 bucks just for the internet. I also forgot that Steve's laptop doesn't have a spot for an SD card, and I didn't bring the camera cord, so no pictures until we get home. I may take a few pictures with Steve's cell and blog from that, but I think I'm just going to relax and enjoy myself and post everything when I get home. If you can't reach me, it's because I forgot my charger for my phone. Call me on Steve's. I'll have to charge mine in the car. Anyway, love to all. Got to get to bed. Mickey's waiting!

Almost there...

...but still bored. Kaylee has been crying for me to get a splinter out of her toe. I ignored her for as long as I could, and when I finally turned around, this is what I found.

Amarillo by mornin'...

... or by12:30.

Grand Canyon

We probably won't be in until Wednesday now, but it was worth it.

Talking to Courtney

Wind Power

This is our second full day. We are currently listening to "Come back to my heart," a song written by Kaylee about Washington.

Road Trip

We are finally on the road. Yesterday was pretty emotional, but we got through it. We're now in Oregon and just heard the first classic quote of the trip, and I thought I'd share it with you. "Do these people speak our language or Bonjour?"

Change of Command

Today was the Change of Command ceremony for HHC. Steve has worked so hard these past two years as commander for both A Co and HHC. I know it's tough for him to give up the company right before a deployment and not be the leader taking them into combat. Steve, I am so proud of you and love you so much! P.S. Thank you, Mark, for taking pictures for us!

Saying Good-bye

Tonight I had to say good-bye to one of my dearest friends, Becca Rae. Everyone knows I am awful at good-byes, and this was definitely one of the hardest.

BR, I'm so thankful that God put you in my life. You helped make this miserable place bearable. Here are a few memories of the last 2 years. I'm now realizing that I really should have brought my camera more often. Love you lots!

This was my first time hearing BR sing...Amazing!

Becky, BR, and me at BR's CD Release party

We worked late into the night for several weeks to get this accomplished, but had a lot of fun doing it. I may be biased, but I think it looks great.

The military ball last year which was also on BR's birthday. I was very preggo!

Suprise party the day after the ball

First time holding Wyatt (and having great cleavage at the same time! Sorry, it's the only picture I had.)

Good-bye, my dear friend. I'll miss you!

Our Houseguest

Recently, Kaylee invited a friend over to stay. She has taken residence in our living room. I've asked her several times to leave, but she refuses.

A gift for Ms. Noble

Kaylee is always going through the house picking up random household items and crafting them into all kinds of projects. Kaylee's teacher, Ms. Noble usually is blessed with them and is always very appreciative. When Kaylee asked me how to spell a whole sentence this morning, I was unaware of what she was up to. Instead of spelling it all out for her, I wrote the saying at the top of a sheet of paper for her, and 20 minutes later she came back with this masterpiece. It's now displayed for all to see on the classroom door.

You must click on this to enlarge it to get a full appreciation of her art. You can't tell, but the cotton ball does have a happy face drawn on it.
